First Secretary - Central Committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia (1970-1988)

Short bio

He supported technocratic modernizers in Slovakia and attracted foreign trade organizations to sattle down in Bratislava instead of Prague. He had a great influence in the creation of Slovak automibile industry and cooperation with Austrian and Italian business partners.

Peter Colotka

He was a well educated lawyer and moderate communist, he supported the investment in Slovak industry with the assistence of West European partners.

Gustáv Husák

He was the architect of the normalization regime and supported the economic cooperation with West European countries.
