Regular contributor - Foreign Trade journal, Polish Chamber of Foreign Trade (-)Długosz was a major figure for the expansion of trade relations with Western Europe. In the 1970s, he was the main negotiator and expert in the Ministry of Foreign Trade. He regularly travelled to the West and negotiated terms of trade agreements and their financing. He produced reports on the EEC and CMEA-EEC talks. Author of numerous publications on foreign trade and international economy. Despite being one of the most qualified experts on foreign trade and participating in many critical negotiations, his influence over policy-making was limited. In his memoirs, Długosz described his activity as a 'pure business'.
